Registration opens at: 3:00 pm

Work Shop 1      5:00pm – 6:00 pm  maculele/dance guerrera

 Mestre Doutor:  0 – 1^st cords

Mestre Pinga Fogo:  2^nd – 3^rd cords

Beginner style but all levels welcomed!

 

Work Shop 2      6:30pm – 7:30pm   Advanced Capoeira Movements

Mestre Virgulino, Mestre Pentiado, Mestre Paulo Batuta

Intermediate / Advanced style but all levels welcomed!

 

Roda:  8:00pm – 9:00pm

Weather permitting will be across from Bin’s Park or in front of Isaac’s Restaurant.  Otherwise roda will be at the studio. We will have further directions the day of the event.

Hamilton Club Capoeira Performance Details

The Club is looking forward to having us perform  to help complete the ambiance of their Brazilian theme.

 

We confirmed 10 – 15 people to perform on Friday, July 24.

 

We are playing the “background” music and doing two 20-30 minute shows.

 

The event starts at 5:30. I have scheduled the shows for 6 during cocktail hour and 8 pm. during dinner hour.

There is a large stairway down to the pool area where they have tables set up for dinner. They would like us to be standing and/or sitting on the steps between shows, playing the instruments. I’m not exactly sure how this will play out since we have never done quite this kind of arrangement for our demos. but I know it will all work out and they will LOVE us!!!

 

 

We will be performing at the Club’s annual picnic at the Conestoga House.

 

This event is held from 5:30 p.m. until almost dark on Friday, July 24.

Looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible at this event.

Wednesday and Thursday Classes July 22 & 23 2009

Subject: Wed & Thursday Class this week!

There will be class tonight Wednesday July 22, 2009 from 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm. There will not be class from 6:30 - 8:30 since we have many students heading to Philly for an open roda at Mestre Doutors. If anyone is interested in going to Philly, you should call Carlos. I am not sure how much room they have in cars, if any.

Thursday night, class will be at normal time (6:30 - 7:30) however, Carlos will NOT be teaching. We will have a higher cord student teaching.

Saturday & Sunday June 6th & 7th

I can only begin to tell everyone how much I enjoyed driving to DC this past Friday with Staci, Coqui, and Angel. We  spend the day in beautiful sunshine, watching great capoeira, and hanging out with incredible people!  I feel so blessed to have met so many new and interesting people through capoeira.  Every day I am amazed at something that connects me back to my group; my CDO family. 

I just want to say thank you to Brenda for getting me and Mia involved in Capoeira.  Thank you to Julia and Carlos for helping us get hooked on the incredible workouts.  Thank you to Mae for helping me learn something new every day, and to all my other CDO friends….thank you for letting me be a part of your world.  I may not be the best capoeirista but what I lack in form, stamina, and ability, I try to make up for in heart, and admiration for all of you who truly kick butt!
